IP68 standard test is 1.5m for 30 minutes. Kexin 8-series IP68 cases are tested to 5m for 60 minutes (3x standard requirement). Trolley series IP68 tested to 3m for 60 minutes. Beyond 5m, we recommend N2-purge pressure equalization valve to prevent O-ring compression set. Maximum recommended operating depth 30m for 8-series without purge valve. For deeper applications, custom pressure-rated cases required.

Can Kexin cases be used for surf, kayak, or paddleboard storage?

Yes. 6-series (IP67) is sufficient for kayak deck storage, paddleboard dry box, and surfboard roof rack transport. 8-series (IP68) is recommended for surfing wipeouts and brief submersion. Common use: waterproof phone/keys/wallet case (1-series small), dry box for fishing gear, snack and water storage, first aid kit. Anti-slip rubber feet optional. Stainless steel hardware (latches, hinges) optional for salt-water use.

How does ASTM B117 salt spray test work?

ASTM B117 is the standard salt spray (fog) test for corrosion resistance. Test chamber maintains 35°C, 5% NaCl solution atomized into fog, pH 6.5-7.2. 1000 hours ASTM B117 exposure simulates approximately 5-10 years of marine atmospheric exposure. Kexin 8-series and Trolley pass 1000+ hours ASTM B117. Hardware (latches, hinges) in 316 marine-grade stainless steel.
